Excerpts from the article “Power to Change 3: The Awakening Church” on Andrew Comisky’s website: “Changing deep patterns of sexual desire, behavior and motivation require the support of an entire community: it takes a village, Jesus-style. Any program or therapy is only as good as the greater community of faith surrounding the one seeking change. Perhaps that is why the enemy of sexual integrity seeks first to divide and weaken the church. If Jesus’ body falters toward those with same-sex attraction, no community of healing exists.”
“But when local churches become advocates of grace and truth for the gender broken, healing rises like sun breaking through clouds. And I am pleased to say that the church is rising in this hour to mobilize for such healing. Read the rest of this entry →

Excerpt from the article “Will Lisa Ling Misrepresent Sexual Orientation Change Effort Therapy Again?” on the Voice of the Voiceless website: … “Let me be clear when I say this. I like Lisa Ling. I like Our America. I also like Alan Chambers personally, although I do not agree with the direction he is taking Exodus International. But what is most troubling to me is that Ling refuses to interview actual psychotherapists who practice SOCE [sexual orientation change efforts] and/or clients who have gone through SOCE, either via individual therapy or through group therapy programs such as Journey Into Manhood. These programs differ dramatically than the Exodus programs, but the average person would not know that unless a reporter makes this distinction.” Read the rest of this entry →

Excerpts from the article “Former APA president: ‘I know of hundreds homosexuals who changed their sexual orientation” on LifeSiteNews.com: “NEW JERSEY – A renowned psychologist who was a former president of the American Psychological Association (APA) has submitted an affidavit saying that he personally treated over 2,000 homosexuals for various conditions, while his staff counseled thousands more, and he knows of ‘hundreds’ who successfully changed their orientation.”
“Nicholas Cummings filed the affidavit in support of a motion by JONAH (Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing) before the New Jersey Superior Court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) accusing the group of ‘fraud’ for offering reparative therapy services. Reconciliation Ministries has republished an essay based on Proverb 13:12 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Here is an excerpt: “Are you frustrated or angry at God because your trial is still going on. Like many of you, I’ve had to wrestle with the questions of “why?” Why did God allow…? Where was He when…? Didn’t He care that…? As I receive more healing, I realize that it is through the trials that He has given me many gifts of the heart. If we embrace the trials, we will grow closer to Christ and know more of Him than we could ever dream possible if our lives were unchallenged. Jesus doesn’t rewrite history, but He can redeem it. Our present trial may not end, but He can calm the raging seas of our soul.” Read the rest of this entry →

Excerpts from the letter PFOX sent to Keith Willingham, Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management: … “Language that specifically includes former homosexuals is necessary because of intense prejudice and discrimination against the ex-gay community and their supporters. Larry Dombrowski, a federal government employee with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), was suspended without pay for seven days and transferred to another state because, among other things, he spoke about former homosexuals in conversations with co-workers.” Read the rest of this entry →

JONAH [Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing] website gives an update on the SPLC lawsuit against them: “On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, FCDF [Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund ] filed a motion to dismiss the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) “precedent setting” lawsuit targeting what it calls the fraudulent practice of “conversion therapy”. SPLC is the anti-religious bully that has targeted this small Jewish nonprofit organization that, but for the FCDF, lacked the financial resources to defend itself in court. The SPLC filed their “first of its kind” lawsuit in the nation against JONAH. The SPLC has launched a nationwide campaign to deprive people struggling with same-sex attraction, the opportunity to exercise their right to self determination by seeking help from organizations like JONAH. Excerpt from the article “Power to Change 2: A Fortress of Friends” on Andrew Comisky’s website: “Gender integration requires ‘grace with faces’: those walking partners we discover in the healing community who satisfy our deep longing for same-gender identification and intimacy. Here we discover the love/hate relationship we actually have with our own gender. Holy and humble friendships help us navigate the fear of rejection, the threat of desiring too much, and the surprise discovery that that we are actually good gifts to out comrades. Deeper still, we realize that our ‘homosexual’ needs are not erotic at all but rather deeply emotional.” Read the rest of this entry →

Excerpt from an article entitled “I was traumatized by the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hate campaign against ex-gays” written by Chuck Peters on the Voice of the Voiceless website: “Over the past twenty years I have been in therapy to overcome unwanted same-gender attractions. During this time, ineffective counseling yielded small, but insufficient results. However, after receiving therapy from the International Healing Foundation (IHF) in the past couple of years, I finally began to make real progress.” …
“But recently I stumbled upon an article published on Advocate.com, a gay-activist news media outlet, written by one of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s attorneys, Mr. Sam Wolfe. This article detailed, almost exactly, the IHF healing seminar I experienced about two years ago. On the first day of the seminar, I sat next to Mr. Wolfe. I revealed very personal, private, and painful information to him when we shared in pairs. Read the rest of this entry →

Excerpt from the Liberty Counsel Press Release of May 30, 2013: “Trenton, NJ – As the New Jersey Senate prepares to vote today on S2278, a bill to prohibit sexual orientation change efforts (SOCE), Liberty Counsel vows to vindicate the rights of counselors, minors, and parents should S2278 be enacted and signed by the Governor. Yesterday Liberty Counsel sent letters to New Jersey state senators, asking them to reject this unconstitutional law that tramples the fundamental rights of counselors, minors, and parents.” …
