Ex-gay describes the psychological mechanics of same-sex attraction

May 26, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Homosexuality Causation, testimony

April 4, 2014

The following excerpts are from the article “Knowing How the Fairy Tale Ends” by Don D. on the Jonah website: … “One of the things same-sex attracted (SSA) men have suppressed and buried in shadow is parts of their own masculinity. Because much of what I’m in love with is a projection of my own masculinity that I have buried at an inaccessible depth, much of my passion is really about a desire to reclaim not the other man’s masculinity but my own hidden masculinity that I have projected onto another man. I have heard homosexuality described as an attempt to cannibalize the masculinity of the other man through sex. What is really going on is an attempt to heal the schism within myself, to reconcile myself with myself and reincorporate back into my personality those parts of me I rejected at a very young age out of an existential fear of annihilation from parental rejection.” (more…)

Renee Dallas – Healing from spousal betrayal

May 26, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Relationship Advice, Religious Perspective

April 3, 2014

The following excerpts are from the blog “Worship and Recovery” by Renee Dallas on Joe Dallas’s website: … “I learned this during the time I worked through the pain of my first husband’s betrayal, years before I met Joe: personal worship leads to healing. At first I was so numb; the jarring realization of what had happened left me wounded, grieving and hopeless. But as I found myself murmuring vague prayers reaching out to God, I was drawn to the music of praise. During this time of personally connecting with the Lord, the most meaningful healing happened for me—soul-to soul in that place where only He could reach, I heard Him communicate His love for me.”

“Paradox of Praise in Pain – It seems paradoxical to praise God when your whole life has been turned upside down. But pain can create a thirst in us that drives us to connect with the Creator who alone has the ability to give comfort and meaning. (more…)

So you’ve tried everything?

March 28, 2014

The following excerpts are from the blog “Where is the victory” by Robert Gollwitzer on the Homosexuals Anonymous website: “Men and women with unwanted same-sex attractions often meet in local or online groups, seek out therapists and get all those wonderful resources out there. All good and nice. Nothing to be said against that. And yet, you have some who keep on telling you they’ve tried ‘everything’ and ‘nothing’ worked so far. Oh really. After years and years of dealing with those folks that I love with all of my heart, here some points to ponder (or better: kicks in the butt):”

“- So you’ve tried everything. Did ya. Usually, a closer look reveals that they tried nothing for real. They might show up at one or two meetings, or order a book – and this is it. (more…)

Powerful and informative personal testimony

March 28, 2014

The following excerpts are from the article “Why Does the World Not Want to Face the Pain of Child Abuse and SSA?” by John Stephen W. on the JONAH website: … “My personal testimony below will show how inappropriate it is to box someone like myself into a gay identity, after all, change of sexual orientation is entirely possible and I am living proof of that fact.”

“I experienced what is called ‘unwanted same sex sexual attraction’ (SSA) at the age of 10, when puberty began for me. Given the fact that I was sexually abused by my Father prior to that time, it is revealing that my first wet dream and several others thereafter were of my Father. His sexual abuse began at about age 3 (possibly earlier) and continued until I was 7 1/2 years old. (more…)

Ban will lead to suicides

March 28, 2014

The following excerpts are from the article … “Take Away Hope and You Kill a Child: Illinois Advances Hope Killing Legislation” by Chuck Peters on the Voice of the Voiceless website: “Lesbian Rep. Kelly M. Cassidy [Illinois] is the sponsor of the ill-conceived ‘Youth Mental Health Protection Act’. This bill does nothing to protect the mental health of any child except to tell a minor child if you have a homosexual thought or feeling, you need to collapse that into your identity, grab your rainbow flag, and live the rest of your life as a homosexual.”

“Essentially, this bill is another form of child abuse at the hands of the militant gay activists like Rep. Kelly M. Cassidy. If this bill would have been a law when I was a child I would not be writing this article today. (more…)

Susan’s journey in and out of a transgender identity

May 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Religious Perspective, testimony

March 27, 2014

The following excerpts are from the testimony “My Journey In and Out of Transexuality Through Christ” by Susan on the PFOX website: … “The road to Wholeness in Christ means a break from the flight from pain. When we receive Christ we are broken vessels. As we continue to grow in Him, He takes these broken pieces and makes an object for His pleasure as He heals the pieces. In order to create the object the pieces have to be moved — they have to submit to the Potter even if it means they go through the fire again. Most importantly they don’t react in the same way they did before. As we desire the Lord to set us free we must realize that whatever coping mechanisms we used for our suffering must be submitted to Christ. Continuous surrender. Wholeness in Christ means to give God the final say. He is the only One who can be our all in all.”

“This began the journey of discovering the lies I believed about myself, lies I believed about others, the damaging effect of labels, (more…)

Joe Dallas – The bigger picture concerning World Vision’s policy

May 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Religious Perspective

March 27, 2014

The following excerpts are from the blog “World Vision, Same-Sex Marriage and Us: Responding or Reacting?” on Joe Dallas’s website: “Many of you e-mailed me privately or messaged me about my response to World Vision over their policy change towards hiring people in same sex marriages … The first question some of you raised was whether or not I felt a gay person is fit to serve children. Well of course he is. Like every believer I know, I have no problem with a secular company hiring anyone, gay or straight, for this kind of charitable work. But when an organization claims, as World Vision does, to be specifically Christian in both its mission and function, then we expect it to maintain Biblical standards in its hiring practices. Those standards don’t just take into account the competence of an individual; they also consider whether he or she is living a life in line with Biblical guidelines. For a Christian organization, that’s a reasonable expectation. That’s why I believe WV erred seriously in its decision to hire people engaged in same-sex relations, then corrected the error by reversing the decision.” (more…)

March 25, 2014

The following press release “International Healing Foundation Demands Answers from Md. Delegate Jon Cardin – Alliance Defending Freedom Allied Attorneys to Investigate Defamation and Discriminatory Conduct” by the International Healing Foundation is reprinted in its entirety: Bowie, MD — International Healing Foundation (IHF), a non-profit therapeutic organization based in Bowie, Maryland is demanding answers from Md. Del. Jon Cardin, who recently introduced, then withdrew, HB 91, which proposed banning licensed mental health practitioners in Maryland from helping minor clients who seek to resolve unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA).

Since 1990, IHF has helped thousands of individuals with unwanted SSA and families struggling with sexual orientation, but on at least two separate occasions, Del. Cardin made defamatory statements about the organization in reference to HB 91. With the help of Garza Regan & Associates, Alliance Defending Freedom Allied Attorneys in Maryland, IHF is launching an investigation into Cardin’s activities with Equality Maryland and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Psychiatrists stand up to protect the rights of those with unwanted SSA

May 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Gay Politics, Sexual Orientation Change Efforts

March 23, 2014

The following excerpts are from the letter written by John H. Raney, M.D., ABPN and Anthony Duk, M.D. ABPN to the Illinois committee overseeing the bill to ban change therapy: “May we respectfully suggest that the efforts of some to ban SOCE therapy in Illinois are: An unfounded overreach without support in scientific research. (Even the APA’s task force made up of gay activists and gay affirming professionals – without one professional who actually does SOCE(!), said there wasn’t enough research to say whether it was harmful or beneficial)” …

“Those who are wrongly forced to live with unwanted same sex attraction will unfortunately face the same documented medical and psychological problems faced by those in the gay lifestyle which include: -Increased rates of depression, drug abuse, suicidal ideation and behavior – Tremendously increased rates of HIV infection and AIDS – Increased rates of Hepatitis B and C – Increased rates of anal and colon cancer” …

WND reports on PFOX claim of discrimination against Christians

May 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics, Sexual Orientation Change Efforts

March 21, 2014

The following excerpts are from the article “California accused of discriminating against Christians” on the World Net Daily website: “When California lawmakers passed a law preventing licensed therapists from discussing with their clients how to eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions, their intent was to discriminate against the Judeo-Christian belief that homosexuality is sinful, charges a new brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court.”

“The document was submitted by Freedom X, a nonprofit public interest law firm, as well as Parents and Friends of ExGays and Gays, a leading advocacy organization for the ex-‘gay’ community. The brief is in support of a request that the Supreme Court review and overturn a decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that endorsed the censorship of specific words and ideas in therapy sessions in the state.” (more…)
