The following excerpts are from Part 2 of the article “Retrieving Our Son Back from Homosexuality” by Steve and Janice Graham for the PFOX spring 2014 newsletter: “In our last issue, Steve and Janice Graham told of their struggles when their son confessed his confused sexual feelings and addiction to homosexual pornography. In part two, they take us on their journey through treatment and healing: When our son admitted his problems with homosexuality, we took him to see a psychiatrist—but it was too upsetting for him. He thought we believed he was crazy. We didn’t know what to think. We were in shock—and a bit of denial.” …
“Years later, our son’s therapist concluded he wouldn’t have struggled with homosexual tendencies had it not been for the pervasive homosexual influence of the internet. In other words, he was fed a gay identity.” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the article “Knowing How the Fairy Tale Ends” by Don D. on the Jonah website: … “One of the things same-sex attracted (SSA) men have suppressed and buried in shadow is parts of their own masculinity. Because much of what I’m in love with is a projection of my own masculinity that I have buried at an inaccessible depth, much of my passion is really about a desire to reclaim not the other man’s masculinity but my own hidden masculinity that I have projected onto another man. I have heard homosexuality described as an attempt to cannibalize the masculinity of the other man through sex. What is really going on is an attempt to heal the schism within myself, to reconcile myself with myself and reincorporate back into my personality those parts of me I rejected at a very young age out of an existential fear of annihilation from parental rejection.” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the article “Nobody is ‘born that way’ gay historians say” written by David Benkof and published on The Daily Caller website: … “Are gays indeed born that way? The question has immense political, social, and cultural repercussions. For example, some of the debate over applying the Constitution’s equal protection clause to gays and lesbians focuses on whether gayness is an inborn characteristic. And the major argument gays and lesbians have made for religious affirmation has been, ‘God made me this way.’”
“Thus, if it’s proven sexual orientations are not innate, much of the scaffolding upon which today’s LGBT movement has been built would begin to crumble. (more…)

Lesbian feminist and university professor Camille Paglia discussed sexuality on the Dennis Prager show. It is noteworthy from the ex-gay viewpoint, because she reiterated the same facts about the causation of homosexuality as sexual orientation change therapists. She started out the interview by stating “Well, it’s my point of view, sexuality is very fluid. Sexual Orientation can change according to circumstance. It’s an absolute canard, as I said in the Wall Street Journal interview, that you’re born gay. This is, there’s absolutely not a shred of evidence for that.” The Voice of the Voiceless transcribed some of her comments: “Every single gay person I know has some sort of drama going on, back in childhood. Something was happening that we’re not allowed to ask about anymore (more…)

Christopher Doyle, ex-gay, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and founder of Voice of the Voiceless engaged radio host Dennis Prager on the etiology of homosexuality. In the exchange Prager did acknowledge that “The Left – the straight Left as well as the gay Left – have told as usual they have lied on behalf of their values, just as the President did, in my sad opinion, with regard to health care and with regard to his opposition to getting rid of the filibuster. The lie is that it is fixed in everybody; every gay it’s fixed. It’s amazing, the gay and straight Left tell us that sexual orientation is fixed, but gender isn’t. That’s what so, it’s mind-blowing, the world of lies, really, that we are expected to believe, and when said often enough people do believe it. (more…)

The following excerpts are from the blog “Mercy 14: Mercy for Purity” on Andrew Comiskey’s website: “The goal of our sexuality is to become good, fruitful gifts to others. That means integrating our sexuality into the whole of our humanity. When our desires and motives for another are subject to what is truly best for that other, then we have become pure.”
… “Pornography use is the ultimate disintegrator. It inflames sexual desire while splitting one off from the reality of what a whole sexual relationship requires. Porn blinds its users to the command to love a person as a whole. Porn fractures the lives of all involved; it subverts chastity more than any other force on earth.” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the blog “Mercy 13: Mercy for Sodom” on Andrew Comiskey’s website: Growing acceptance of gender brokenness seems founded on the belief that people are born incurably ‘gay,’ ‘transgender’ etc. Why not be and act according to who one intrinsically is?
Rarely discussed is the fracturing impact such acceptance has upon vulnerable boys and girls. Identity formation involves far more than genetics. Who we become from childhood to adulthood depends significantly upon the ‘identities’ we witness. Are they blessed or broken in the eyes of those around us? Social cues influence the choices children make about who they will become. (more…)

The following excerpt is from Peter Sprigg’s article “Why Science Doesn’t Support Orientation-Change Bans” on FirstThings.com: … “In fact, the American Psychological Association itself has actually moved away from asserting certainty about the origins of homosexuality, declaring in their most recent statement on this question that: ‘There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. . . . Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles.’”
“If even the American Psychological Association says ‘there is no consensus among scientists’ about the origin of homosexuality, then it seems presumptuous of politicians to act as though there is in order to stifle conservative viewpoints on the issue. (more…)

A thirty minute video documentary offering factual information on homosexual causation and homosexual attractions is now online. Those featured in “Understanding Same Sex Attractions” include psychologists, counselors, and those who have unwanted same-sex attractions. One of the licensed counselors in the documentary, Floyd Godfrey, articulated that the “easiest way to understand homosexual feelings would be by the definition that it is the sexualization of emotional needs and wounds.” The documentary is produced by Family Watch International and can be linked HERE.

In a USA Today column critical of the Southern Poverty Law Center lawsuit against JONAH, former American Psychological Association president Nicholas Cummings concluded … “But contending that all same-sex attraction is immutable is a distortion of reality. Attempting to characterize all sexual reorientation therapy as ‘unethical’ violates patient choice and gives an outside party a veto over patients’ goals for their own treatment. A political agenda shouldn’t prevent gays and lesbians who desire to change from making their own decisions.”
“Whatever the situation at an individual clinic, accusing professionals from across the country who provide treatment for fully informed persons seeking to change their sexual orientation of perpetrating a fraud serves only to stigmatize the professional and shame the patient.” (more…)
