[Editor’s note: Gay-straight alliances in schools are a political strategy of GLSEN, the gay political movement’s most powerful organization influencing schoolchildren. The message of GLSEN mirrors the gay political movement that gay is good and equal to heterosexuality. GLSEN has been involved with efforts to teach schoolchildren gay sexual techniques and associates biblical principles on homosexuality with intolerance. Ex-gayTruth.com does not agree with the advice that follows from Alan Chambers.]

The following text was transcribed from the “Question of the Week: How do I respond to a gay-straight alliance in our local school?” video featuring Alan Chambers: “Our question this week comes from a man who called in asking how he should respond to the creation of a gay-straight alliance being created in a public system in his community. So often we get these types of calls from concerned Christians who don’t know how they should respond or react in situations like this.”

“Our advice to him was to go to this meeting. Not to speak, but to serve and to listen, and to offer to help, finding common ground rather than another way that we can debate or argue over issues that won’t be solved in a meeting like that.”

“Our encouragement was that he serve Christ and his community as a believer in a new way. For us as believers what we have to know is we have something to share. We’re excluded from meetings like this and looked down upon in some instances because we have over-reacted in situations like this.”

“The time has come for us to change the public opinion on how we as Christians respond to issues like this, offering to serve and offering to walk along side people whether you agree with them completely or not, is a way that I think we can build bridges and inroads into communities and people’s lives that God would have us build inroads into.”
