Dr. Miriam Grossman called a hateful extremist for helping those with unwanted SSA

May 8, 2013

A member of the New South Wales parliament has called Dr. Miriam Grossman a hateful extremist for supporting therapy for those “who wish to struggle against their same sex attraction.” Following are excerpts from Dr. Grossman’s reply in an article entitled “A Serious Accusation” that can be found on the PFOX website. … “As explained in my blogs, Gay or Straight? When others decide for you Part One & Part Two, if a patient comes to me in distress about this issue, it’s ethical for me to inform him about all his options. He has the right to define himself, and to choose a path that’s right for him. That’s what psychotherapy is all about: a journey.”

“A person can accept his urges, or he can choose to struggle against them. I have personally met with dozens of people who benefited from this therapy, to say nothing of the testimonials on sites like Narth and PFOX. … There’s nothing hateful about my position about therapy for same sex attraction, or about any of my positions. I’m a doctor, and I want to keep people out of the offices of doctors and therapists. It’s that simple.”

Randy Thomas tells his story

May 7, 2013

The following excerpt is the beginning of Randy Thomas’s article “God Used a Drag Queen to Save My Life – Paying it Forward” on Randy Thomas’s website: “My first 19 years of life were kind of messed up. Let me explain.”

“I was not raised in the church and while I did claim to be Christian, I had no clue what “salvation” actually meant. I truly thought Jesus and Moses were cousins. I imagined John the Baptist as some type of primitive hippie. When I was a kid, I would look through the bible my father had left behind when he left us, and the pictures always stood out to me. I loved those pictures.”

“Even so, I grew up hating Christians.” Read the rest of this entry →

Andrew Comisky more determined to stand for truth

May 7, 2013

Excerpts from the article “Provoking Life 3” on Andrew Comisky’s website: “As I have reflected upon this past year leading up to Easter. I have marveled at the shifts in my life that have grounded me deeper in Jesus. Admittedly, I have lived most of my adult life as a Christian in joyful conflict with the culture. Yet in the last year I have experienced more resistance to what I hold true than in the 32 years of ministry that preceded it.”

“What I know to be true is now denounced as false, even scandalous and inhuman. The majority cannot hear about the transformation of persons with same-sex attraction without the assumption that one is a liar, a brain-washer, a right-wing extremist, or at worst, an accomplice to the suicide of ‘gay’ kids who cannot endure such ‘hate.’” Read the rest of this entry →

New Jersey media coverage of ex-gay opposition to S2278

May 6, 2013

Beginning of the article “Opponents of gay ‘conversion therapy’ bill envoke Jerry Sandusky’s name” on nj.com. “TRENTON — In a move that outraged gay rights advocates, opponents of a bill to outlaw ‘conversion therapy’ intended to turn gay children straight today sought to associate the measure with a convicted child molester. They called the bill (S2278) the ‘Jerry Sandusky Victimization Act.’”

“Gregory Quinlan, director of government affairs for socially conservative New Jersey Family First, said at a Trenton press conference today sexual feelings towards the same sex can develop as a result of molestation. ‘We’d be denying the child the discovery of why they’re having those feelings, which is why we’re calling this the ‘Jerry Sandusky Victimization Act,’’ Quinlan, who describes himself as a former homosexual, said.”

Judith Reisman gives evidence of a gay child-sex-abuse cover-up

May 5, 2013

Excerpts from the article “How the ‘gay’ child-sex-abuse cover-up kills young men” on the World Net Daily website: … “In fact, an analysis of the groundbreaking 1983 book, ‘One Teenager in Ten: Writings by Gay And Lesbian Youth,’ finds 38 percent of these teens reporting personal ‘gay’ child sex abuse. The vulnerable youngsters were counseled that their abuse was their own fault, for they were really born that way.’”

… “The CDC authors [2001-2009 ‘Survey on Sexual Identity’] mislead the public by euphemizing ‘first sexual intercourse before age 13’ as a variation of ‘coming of age’ versus rape and statutory rape. The authors use the word ‘harassed’ only once, in reporting that mis-oriented youths were ‘verbally harassed.’ (p. 47).”

Now, 10 years later, Paulk is back in the spotlight–but this time he’s apologizing for the reparative therapy he used to promote.”

Leslie Chambers “cannot be silent any longer”

July 05, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Religious Perspective

May 1, 2013

The following article “Leslie Chambers Tackles Heterosexuality, Hyper-Grace, and Offers Hope” from the Exodus International website is reprinted in its entirely: “Have you ever wondered what people think of you? As my husband is Alan Chambers, the President of Exodus International, I have. At present, he is somewhat of a conundrum for a lot of people. There seems to be some confusion about who he is, what he is saying and what he stands for. Here it is in a nutshell: while he has repeatedly stated his biblically orthodox view of sexuality, he has also stated his belief that one particular sin is not somehow more offensive to God than another. As his wife, I have stayed out of most of the chaos, but there are a few things that I cannot be silent about any longer. So here it goes… Read the rest of this entry →

Alan Chambers explains why Exodus International is staying out of the marriage debate

July 05, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News

April 30, 2013

The following excerpts of Alan Chambers April 2013 letter “Living Our Faith, Sharing Our Lives” were taken from the Exodus International website: … “I have become unwilling to speak out against gay marriage personally and have decided with my leaders to keep Exodus International out of the policy discussion, as well. That fact has confused some of our supporters and friends and cost us financial support because people think we are caving in to pressure from gay activists. There have been people who have criticized my relationship with Christ and others who have placed bets on how long it will be before I ‘come out’ and leave my family. The sting of criticism is palpable. I am sad that Christianity, at least in America, has been boiled down to where one stands on the issue of homosexuality. The truth I live by, and the truth that has been a part of Exodus since its foundation, has not changed. How we choose to share that truth has.” Read the rest of this entry →
