Pruden, M.S. are reprinted from the NARTH website: … “In keeping with NARTH’s commitment to science and education, NARTH offers the following synopsis of scientific research on homosexuality that may be helpful to the national council of the Boy Scouts of America as it deliberates a change in policy that would allow homosexually-identified youth as members.[1]”

Anne Paulk clarifies her statements about Restored Hope Network

July 06, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Religious Perspective

May 16, 2013

The following statement by Anne Paulk on the Restored Hope Network Facebook page has been reprinted in its entirety: In responding to the news piece in OneNewsNow today, there are a couple of things that I, Anne, would like to clarify. www.onenewsnow.com/culture/2013/05/15/restoring-hope-for-homosexuals

First, as far as “replacing Exodus International,” Restored Hope Network simply continues to hold to the traditional Exodus view–prior to the current leadership–that men and women can repent and be transformed into new creatures in Christ. This implies obedience and agreement with God’s sexual ethics. Homosexuality is not approved by God in the scriptures and falls outside of God’s plan for human sexuality. (1 Cor 6:9-11, James 1:13-16) The only expression of sexuality that is blessed is that of one man and one woman uniting in marriage. This was affirmed in Genesis and reaffirmed by our Lord in Matthew chapter 19. (more…)

Anne Paulk on the Restored Hope Network mission

July 06, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Religious Perspective

May 15, 2013

The following article “Restoring Hope for Homosexuals” by Charlie Butts on the onenewsnow.com website has been reprinted in its entirety: A new Christian-based organization has now been birthed to help homosexuals leave the lifestyle. Anne Paulk, a spokesperson for the Restored Hope Network, lived the lesbian lifestyle until she found Christ 28 years ago. She tells OneNewsNow her group hopes to replace Exodus International — an organization that once had a biblical purpose but is now trying to please homosexual activists rather than Christ. According to Paulk, Exodus International has embraced an extreme theology related to grace.

“It was kind of an error in the thinking of once saved always saved, saying that a person need no longer confess or repent from their sin, particularly confess,” she explains. “So, it removes the cleansing power of 1 John 1:9, which says, ‘If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.'” (more…)

Profound ex-lesbian testimony and advice for reaching those identifying as LGBT

July 06, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Relationship Advice, Religious Perspective, testimony

May 13, 2013

At one time in her life Rosaria Butterfield was a lesbian college professor with a goal of persuading Christians to the LGBT point of view. How she came to be a Christian and leave her lesbian identity is testimony to the power of the Bible and Christians who took the time to engage her in a spirit of truth and love. Her advice to Christian students includes advice every Christian can use. The following excerpt is the last paragraph of Rosaria Butterfield’s article “Engaging gay activists on campus: A primer” published on the Intercollegiate Review website: “Christians befriended me when I was their staunch enemy. They didn’t identify with me. They identified with Christ, and then walked the long and winding road to me. They trusted that God was bigger than me—and they were right. Don’t ever doubt that in the smallest act of faith and obedience you are planting, or watering, or tilling, or harvesting a legacy of Gospel truth. To God we give the glory!”

Andrew Comisky’s thoughts on the successes of gay marriage

July 06, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Religious Perspective

May 13, 2013

Excerpts from the article “Truth Ascending” on Andrew Comisky’s website: “Like you, I look upon many indignities in our world today, especially those concerning the dull and irrational misinterpretation of homosexuality. That has resulted in ‘gay marriage’ victories from New Zealand to France, and in several states in the USA.”

“Amid the deadening clamor to redefine marriage, the voices of the faithful can also be heard. Are we listening? I have been amazed in the last several weeks as I have heard those who listen to the Spirit and who declare His beauty in marriage.” (more…)

Beginning excerpt of the article “Evangelical human rights head fights to restore reparative therapy for homosexuality in Brazil” by Matthew Hoffman on LifeSiteNews.com: “Pastor Marco Feliciano, a Brazilian Evangelical who was recently elected as the chairman of the Human Rights Committee for the national Chamber of Deputies, is not satisfied with holding his ground against bitter protests and pressure to resign from homosexual activists and their allies. To the outrage of the country’s gay lobby, he is now introducing legislation to roll back the prohibitions placed on reparative therapy for homosexuality by the country’s Federal Council of Psychology (CFP).” (more…)

Dr. Miriam Grossman called a hateful extremist for helping those with unwanted SSA

July 05, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Gay Politics, Sexual Orientation Change Efforts

May 8, 2013

A member of the New South Wales parliament has called Dr. Miriam Grossman a hateful extremist for supporting therapy for those “who wish to struggle against their same sex attraction.” Following are excerpts from Dr. Grossman’s reply in an article entitled “A Serious Accusation” that can be found on the PFOX website. … “As explained in my blogs, Gay or Straight? When others decide for you Part One & Part Two, if a patient comes to me in distress about this issue, it’s ethical for me to inform him about all his options. He has the right to define himself, and to choose a path that’s right for him. That’s what psychotherapy is all about: a journey.”

“A person can accept his urges, or he can choose to struggle against them. I have personally met with dozens of people who benefited from this therapy, to say nothing of the testimonials on sites like Narth and PFOX. … There’s nothing hateful about my position about therapy for same sex attraction, or about any of my positions. I’m a doctor, and I want to keep people out of the offices of doctors and therapists. It’s that simple.”

Randy Thomas tells his story

July 05, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: testimony

May 7, 2013

The following excerpt is the beginning of Randy Thomas’s article “God Used a Drag Queen to Save My Life – Paying it Forward” on Randy Thomas’s website: “My first 19 years of life were kind of messed up. Let me explain.”

“I was not raised in the church and while I did claim to be Christian, I had no clue what “salvation” actually meant. I truly thought Jesus and Moses were cousins. I imagined John the Baptist as some type of primitive hippie. When I was a kid, I would look through the bible my father had left behind when he left us, and the pictures always stood out to me. I loved those pictures.”

“Even so, I grew up hating Christians.” (more…)

Andrew Comisky more determined to stand for truth

July 05, 2013 By: Tom Coy Category: Religious Perspective, testimony

May 7, 2013

Excerpts from the article “Provoking Life 3” on Andrew Comisky’s website: “As I have reflected upon this past year leading up to Easter. I have marveled at the shifts in my life that have grounded me deeper in Jesus. Admittedly, I have lived most of my adult life as a Christian in joyful conflict with the culture. Yet in the last year I have experienced more resistance to what I hold true than in the 32 years of ministry that preceded it.”

“What I know to be true is now denounced as false, even scandalous and inhuman. The majority cannot hear about the transformation of persons with same-sex attraction without the assumption that one is a liar, a brain-washer, a right-wing extremist, or at worst, an accomplice to the suicide of ‘gay’ kids who cannot endure such ‘hate.’” (more…)
